ABOUT THE TASK FORCE

Mission Statement
The New Hampshire Animal Fighting Task Force (NHAFTF) is a statewide coalition of law enforcement officers, humane investigators, animal care and control professionals, veterinarians and others. We believe that the only successful way to combat illegal animal fighting is to consolidate public and private resources and expertise to prevent, investigate and prosecute blood sport cases in the state of New Hampshire.

Speaking Engagements
Task Force members are available to speak to groups or agencies about animal fighting. Speakers cover how to recognize the signs of animal fighting and how to stop this cruel blood sport from spreading in your community! Contact Joanne Bourbeau, New England Regional Director for the Humane Society of the United States, at 802-368-2790 or jbourbeau@hsus.org for more information.

Training Workshops
The Task Force offers workshops that run anywhere from an hour to a day. They are available for law enforcement officials and humane investigators who are interested in learning how to investigate and prosecute animal fighting cases. The Task Force will also loan videos to your department for in-service training opportunities. Contact Joanne Bourbeau, New England Regional Director for the Humane Society of the United States, at 802-368-2790 or jbourbeau@hsus.org for more information.

Case Consultation
Do you suspect that animal fighting may be happening in your jurisdiction but don't know how to proceed? Task Force members are available to consult with your law enforcement agency every step of the way. Contact Steve Sprowl, NHSPCA Cruelty Investigator, at 603-772-2921 x 111 or ssprowl@nhspca.org for more information.

Networking/Information Sharing
The Task Force meets at the Animal Rescue League of New Hampshire in Bedford. Law enforcement officers, humane investigators, animal care and control professionals, and veterinarians are welcome. To become a member, please contact Joanne Bourbeau, New England Regional Director for the Humane Society of the United States, at 802-368-2790 or jbourbeau@hsus.org for more information.
