Ernestine

Bassett Hound mix, Spayed Female, 4 months old, has been good with children of all ages and the other dogs she has met here, but might chase cats for fun.

Cole

Cole is a 4 month old neutered Shepherd mix. This boy has the whole package; he’s smart, good looking and full of energy! He has had no formal training yet but is food motivated and seems to be a fast learner. Overall Cole will need an active lifestyle and some basic obedience. He will most likely do well with children of all ages, cats, and other dogs.

Betsy

Rat Terrier mix, Spayed Female, 4 months old, has been good with children of all ages and the other dogs she has met here, but might chase cats for fun.

Billy

Coon Hound mix, Neutered Male, 3 years old, has been good with the other dogs he has met here but is not recommended with children under the age of 16 and might chase cats for fun.

Casey

Labrador mix, Spayed Female, 5 months old, has been good with children of all ages and the other dogs she has met here, but might chase cats for fun.

Irving

Beagle, Neutered Male, 5 years old, not recommended with children under the age of 6, has been good with some other dogs and has been good with the cats he has met here.

Lacy

Lacy is a 5 year old, spayed, Jack Russell Terrier. She is a very sweet, well mannered dog. However, her previous owners have informed us that she has showed signs of separation anxiety in the past. Because of this she may do best with an owner who works from home or is home for most of the day. Lacey will most likely do well with any aged children, other dogs, and cats.

Cletus

Cletus is a neutered, 10 year old Chihuahua. He has been good with cats and the other calm dogs he has met here. He would probably do best with children over the age of 6 years.

Shadow

Shodow is a neutered, 4 1/2 year old Hound mix. He has been ok with the children he has met here but is not good with cats or other dogs. Shadow is a handsome boy who is housetrained and would do best with a fenced yard as he has escaped in the past.

Sable

Sable is an 8-9 year old, spayed, German Shepherd. She is housetrained and here because an elderly family member moved into her previous home. She is a very sweet girl who is looking for a loving retirement home.

Shirley

Shepherd X, Spayed Female, 1 year old, not recommended with children under the age of 12 and has not been good with cats or other dogs. Shirley is here because she was not good with the cat in her previous home. Shirley is severely under socialized and is a victim of previous abuse and unfortunately her personality will most likely not change. Shirley needs direction and tons of extra time to learn to trust you. Shirley is afraid of fast movements, noises and new people: she doesn’t know WHAT TO DO when afraid. Overall she is a sweet girl who is trying to deal with her terrible past. She deserves a quiet, calm, loving home, won’t you be her angel?

Brownie

Pit Bull X, Spayed Female, 10 years old, not recommended with children under the age of 12, has been good with other dogs and the cats in her previous home. Brownie is here because there were inadequate facilities in her previous home. She is a sweet low maintenance girl who is looking for a loving retirement home.

More information to come.

Colt

Colt is a neutered, 3 - 4 year old Siberian Husky mix. He has been good with some other dogs, has been good with the cats he has met here and would do best with children over the age of 12 years. Colt is here because he needs some basic training. He would be a great fit for a person with an active lifestyle as he has lots of energy.

Hope

Hound X, Spayed Female, 6 years old, not recommended with children under the age of 12, has been good with the other dogs she has met here, but is not good with cats. Hope is here because her previous owner lost their job.

What Do You Really Know About Greyhounds?

Retired greyhounds make wonderful companions! Most are non-barking, easy to housebreak and are already crate trained. Greyhounds are generally excellent on leash, walking quietly and easily next to their person. They tend to have wonderful manners and bond quickly with people and most other dogs. Greyhounds are also very tolerant and can often learn to be okay with cats and children. With consistency and clarity, training can be easy and you may find you have a new shadow! They are intelligent, lovable and loyal. While they may have had a past of racing at the track, they require little exercise and tend to be couch potatoes in the home merely wanting companionship. We have dedicated a kennel to Greyhounds in need and will always have some available for adoption.
