Desperate
House Cats
Every
year the NHSPCA experiences a massive influx of cats and
kittens in the Spring. Sadly, every year, the "kitten
season" seems to run longer and more and more mouths
to feed arrive on our doorstep often leaving us in what
we refer to as a "cat crises". All cute and
cuddly, kittens rarely stay at the shelter long and are
off to their new homes very quickly. While this is wonderful,
several of
|
our young
adult, adult and seniors cats are overlooked during this
season. Week after week, they watchpotential adopters come
and go, hoping this time they will be noticed. Remember,
these cats were kittens too, not too long ago! With all
these personalities vying for a new home, often the cats
in the "Desperate Housecats Club" some gregarious,
some shy, some playful, some that even act like a kitten,
have been living
at the shelter for more than 3 months and have been overlooked
too many times. These special
cats, waiting for a second chance will be honored with a
reduced adoption fee to help them on their way.
Just look for the symbol of love, a heart to denote which
cats are eligible. |
