Other Animals Available for Adoption

New animals are put up for adoption daily!
Not all of our animals are posted on our website.
To see all of the pets available, come visit our facility!

Spot - currently in Foster Care. Approved Applicants will be scheduled to meet her at the NHSPCA.

Spot is a 7 year old, female High Yellow Leopard Gecko who came to the shelter because she was more work for her owner than was previously thought. She needs live insects every couple of days, a consistent tank temperature in the high 80s, and freshwater. When geckos molt, they need a humidity box and extra calcium to ensure their health. Also, Spot can be picky about her insect food and may need supplemental cat food to make sure she gets enough nutrients. Spot is a shy girl, who will tolerate handling and is in beautiful condition. Leopard geckos are long lived reptiles that eat crickets, waxworms and other insects. As with all reptile pets, there is the risk of Salmonella. This can be limited with good husbandry and hand washing following handling. The adoption fee for Spot is $40 and she comes with her 30 gallon tank, heat sources, decorations and vitamin supplements. A prior knowledge of geckos is required.

Eva & Chica - currently in Foster Care. Approved Applicants will be scheduled to meet the birds in their foster home.

Female Blue Front Amazons (DNA tested) bonded companion pair, approximately 20 + years old. Amazons originate in Central and South America and have an average lifespan of 60+ years. Eva and Chica are extremely attached to each other and can never be separated. Both birds have extensive vocabularies and share everything from toys to treats! Eva is somewhat hand tame and seems to have been trained at some point in her life, but Chica has had no handling at all. These birds came to us as part of a cruelty investigation and after weeks of rehabilitation are now ready to find a loving home where they can thrive. They are funny, engaging and playful but can be very, very noisy! Potential Adopters must have large bird handling experience, vet references and familiarity with Amazon's unique behavior and needs.

Adoption fee of $700 includes both birds AND deluxe large parrot cage with toys and playstand top.

K'Noosh

Cockatiel, approximately 7+ years old. Cockatiels originate in Australia and have an average lifespan of 15-20 years. K'Noosh is a friendly, sweet and playful little bird! She was surrendered to us because her owner had no time for her. She has been handled before and knows "step up". With each passing day, K'Noosh becomes more friendly and outgoing, regular handling and lots of love and attention are helping her to become the loving companion we know she can be! Her ideal home would be with someone who will give her lots of love and attention and make her part of the family. She would make an excellent first bird for lucky person!

Ken & Kevin - meet us at Pet Quarters

Rats, both males, 3 months old, has been good with children and cats but we are not sure how they would do with dogs. Ken & Kevin are here because there were too many animals in their previous home.

Otie - currently in Foster Care. Approved Applicants will be scheduled to meet Otie.

Blue Front Amazon, approximately 16 + years old. Amazons originate in Central or South America and have an average lifespan of 60+ years. Otie is a funny, entertaining and playful bird with a large vocabularly and a big personality to match! He has had some training and knows "step-up" but prefers a stick to the hand. Otie is an independent and strong willed guy who loves to interact with people but does not enjoy touching or cuddling. His ideal situation would be in a home where he is the only bird and where he can get tons of attention and spend lots of time with his human flock. Potential Adopters should have large bird experience, vet references and familiarity with Amazon's unique behavior and needs.

Adoption fee of $350 includes large parrot cage with toys and playstand top.

Fuller

Lop Rabbit Mix, Neutered Male, 3 years old, has been good with children, cats and dogs. Fuller is here because his owner was allergic to him.

Hefty & Brainy

Rats, both males, 6 months old, have been ok with the children they have met here, but we are not sure how they would do with cats or dogs. Hefty and Brainy are here because their owner was moving and could not take them along.

Mini Me

Dwarf Rabbit Mix, Neutered Male, 6 years old, has been good with children, cats and dogs. Mini Me is here because the landlord would not allow animals.

Ami

Mini Rex Rabbit Mix, Spayed Female, 1 1/2 years old. Ami was transferred to us from another shelter. We are not sure how she would do with children, cats or dogs.
